Article 4 of the EU AI Act has applied since February 2025. It obliges companies that provide or use AI to ensure adequate AI literacy among the people who work with the systems. A company in Saxony where three people use an AI system for their work every day will usually fall under it. AI training has stopped being optional.
This article shows who offers AI training and AI workshops for companies in Saxony, what the regulation really asks for, and what training looks like when the team can do something afterwards. Who offers AI training for companies in Saxony?
AI training for companies in Saxony comes from three groups: publicly funded bodies, chambers and education providers, and agencies that train on your own process.

The KI-Hub is run by the Mittelstand-Digital centres in Chemnitz and Ilmenau and addresses small and medium-sized companies from Saxony, Thuringia and neighbouring regions. What does Article 4 of the EU AI Act require from companies?
Article 4 requires providers and deployers of AI systems to take measures to ensure a sufficient level of AI literacy. Knowledge, experience, education, training and the context in which the systems are used have to be considered. A company is already a deployer when it uses an AI system in its operations.
Three points matter in practice.
- No mandatory course. The regulation prescribes no specific course and no certificate.
- Tied to the role. Training follows what a role really does with AI. Someone who pre-checks invoices with an agent needs different knowledge than the managing director.
- Proof. Role-based content and documented completions make the measure verifiable.

What does AI training look like when the team can do something afterwards?
Effective AI training happens on your own process and ends with the owners being able to adjust that process themselves. A seminar with sample prompts rarely gets there, because on the Monday after, your own inbox looks different from the slide.
That is why training is one of four services with us, each building on the other: strategy, development, rollout in operations and training. In the automation sprint the team works on one real process for four weeks, for example incoming invoices. Your team needs about two to four hours per week. At the end there are documented processes, clear roles and owners who adjust and extend agents and workflows themselves.
Four topics belong in every training on a process.
- What the agent does and what it must not do. Every action that touches money, customers or contracts stays tied to a human approval.
- Where the answer comes from. The team learns to check sources before a result moves on.
- How to change instructions. Owners edit an agent’s instructions themselves and test the change at once.
- What happens with exceptions. Cases where people had to step in are collected and discussed.

Free training or training inside a project: which fits when?
Both have their place, and the order is often the best answer. A free basics training at the KI-Hub or Zukunftszentrum clears up terms and lowers the threshold. Training inside a project gets a process running and makes its owners independent.
