Pharen. What exactly is it?
What Pharen does, what it costs, where it can run and when another tool may be a better fit.
Questions and answers.
Pharen Hub is the AI workspace built by Pharen IT GmbH, based in Naunhof near Leipzig, Germany: an AI platform for businesses and teams that brings tasks, documents, data, communication, workflows and AI agents into one shared operating context. People and agents work from the same state. Agents prepare or execute work under human approval instead of answering isolated prompts. Pharen Hub runs as a managed cloud or self-hosted via Docker and is published as open fair-code, so the source code can be inspected. There is a free plan; Starter costs EUR 25, Team EUR 79 and Pro EUR 199 per month, plus enterprise terms and a self-hosting licence from EUR 20. It is built for startups, mid-sized companies and transformation projects that want to replace several SaaS tools and separate AI chats with one workspace. The public launch is planned for 7 September 2026.
An AI workspace connects the work AI needs to access: documents, tasks, data, decisions, communication and approvals. An agent begins with that workspace context.
Pharen is built for teams whose work is spread across several tools and who want to use AI in real workflows. This includes startups, operations and transformation teams, agencies and small to medium-sized businesses. If you only need email, file storage or chat, a specialised tool will usually be a better fit.
Those products solve individual parts of work very well. Pharen connects tasks, data, decisions, communication, workflows and AI agents in one workspace. Depending on your setup, it can complement your current stack or take over parts of it.
That depends on how your team works today. Pharen can bring together use cases from chat, documentation, project work, simple CRM processes, automation and separate AI tools. Whether a subscription can go comes down to the features and integrations your team still needs.
There is a free plan. Starter costs €25, Team €79 and Pro €199 per workspace per month. Enterprise is priced individually. AI usage is billed based on consumption, and the self-hosted licence starts at €20. Prices exclude VAT and apply to business customers.
Yes. Pharen is available as managed cloud, self-hosted or in a private setup. With self-hosting, your IT team is responsible for infrastructure, updates and operations. External AI models and integrations may still process data depending on your configuration.
Open fair-code means the code is inspectable, Pharen can be self-hosted and commercial use is licensed. This keeps the technical foundation open to review while funding maintenance, security and ongoing development. The model is therefore not the same as traditional open source.
They can research, summarise documents, review data, prepare drafts or suggest next steps. They use tasks, lists, documents, decisions and workflows from the workspace.
Your team defines the goal, permitted sources, allowed actions and approval points. Critical steps require human approval and remain visible in the workflow. The decision stays with your team.
That depends on the complete setup. Self-hosting gives your team more control over storage, access and deletion of workspace data. External AI models and integrations may still process data. Your configuration, providers, contracts and processes determine whether the requirements are met.
Choose one recurring, reviewable workflow such as invoice pre-checks, lead routing or knowledge search. Define its context, owner, expected result and approval point. Once it runs reliably, add the next workflow or agent.
